St. Anthony's star Chastity Taylor verbally committed to play at the University of Delaware, St. Anthony's coach Ken Parham informed Newsday.
Taylor, a junior, helped lead St. Anthony's to a league title and the CHSAA Class AA state tournament.
"Chastity has the ability to play almost any position on the court with her combination of skill set and size," Parham said of the 5-9 forward, who also is a two-time All-Long Island selection.
Taylor runs the floor well and has the athleticism to guard the perimeter, and the length to rebound and defend inside the paint. She had 13 points and six rebounds in leading St. Anthony's over St. Mary's, 48-36, to capture a third straight Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA championship in March.
She received interest from several universities, including Virginia Tech, Cincinnati and Marshall, Parham said.
Taylor will join a Delaware women's basketball team that went 32-4 last season and reached the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. The program has burgeoned in the last few years and received national exposure, in large part because of superstar Elena Delle Donne.
