St. Anthony's entered the season with little experience and lost a few players to the U.S. Soccer Academy, but has lots of talent. The talent is coming to the surface and the Friars are quickly evolving into an excellent team.

St. Anthony’s pulled off a big upset by knocking off nationally-ranked Martin Luther King (Manhattan), 2-0, at Belson Stadium today.

Brendan Reardon and Joe Busuttil each scored for St. Anthony's (5-0-1) in non-league play. Conor McElhinney made five saves in the win MLK (7-1) is ranked No. 2 in the country, according to the National Soccer Association of America. MLK has won 13 of the last 16 PSAL championships.
