Let's just go ahead and call this one a good sign of things to come.

After being knocked out of the first round of the playoffs last year, St. Dominic kicked off its season in style, with freshman Joe Migliano shooting over 600 in his first varsity match. His 621 (he had a 213 in Game 1) was second only to stalwart Nick Bonomo's 623. Bonomo, a senior, shot a 217 in Game 3, while sophomore Vinny Fitzgerald shot a 580 series.

"I think between [Joe], my sophomore, and the leadership of the two seniors, we're going to be OK," coach Mike Gordek said. "I just want to do better than last year. We struggled a little then. This is a good start for us."

St. Dominic defeated St. Anthony's, 1167-931, 1146-979, and 1149-903 in its first match of the season.
