Stancik wins 400th
Clem Stancik collected his 400th career coaching win on the very courts that were named after him last September.
Alex Hayden defeated Andy Kiss 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-1 in the deciding match at first singles to lead Brentwood (3-2) over West Babylon, 4-3, yesterday at the Clem Stancik Tennis Courts at Brentwood High School.
"It's another milestone," Stancik said. "I still enjoy coaching. This is my 48th year coaching, all at Brentwood. If I make 50 years, I'll be happy. As long as my health hangs out I'll continue."
After having the tennis courts named after him and earning his 400th career win, Stancik said he's not sure what the next milestone may be.
"I don't know if I'll make it to 500," he said. "But we will be going for 401 on Wednesday."
