Cameron Wilson was not kidding at the U.S. Open when he said any challenge would seem like "a piece of cake" after the brutal Olympic Club setup left him at 14 over par. Nor was he wrong. The Stanford sophomore from Rowayton, Conn., blew away challenges from the best amateur players in the metropolitan area and from the windswept Atlantic Golf Club course as he won the Ike Championship by nine strokes.

Wilson, who practiced with Tiger Woods and played with Casey Martin, both former Stanford golfers, at the Open, shot a course record 7-under-par 65 in his morning round Wednesday and finished the 54-hole area major at 8 under. "He made it look effortless," said Joe Saladino of Huntington, who tied for second at 1 over and played with Wilson.

"It shows I'm doing all the right things," Wilson said. What are some of those things? He said, "Since the Open? Sleeping."
