Stars expected at Hamptons film fest
Susan Sarandon, Ellen Barkin, Emily Browning and filmmaker Wim Wenders are among the stars expected to attend this year's 19th annual Hamptons International Film Festival, scheduled for Oct. 13-17, organizers announced Wednesday.
The festival is also expecting celebrities from outside the film world, including Rufus Wainwright, Dick Cavett and former Mets manager Bobby Valentine.
Along with the eclectic list of names, the festival also announced its full lineup of films and events.
The popular "A Conversation With" series continues with Harry Belafonte, Matthew Broderick, Sarandon and Wainwright, while a new series, "Rowdy Talks," will make its debut at the East Hampton nightspot Rowdy Hall with film-industry types such as composer Carter Burwell("Twilight," "True Grit").
The opening-night film is the offbeat comedy "Jeff, Who Lives at Home," starring Jason Segel as a man trying to run a simple errand; the closing-night film is "The Artist," a reported crowd-pleaser despite being silent and in black and white.
The centerpiece film, "Like Crazy" is a Sundance hit about a long-distance relationship between two college classmates (Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin, both expected to attend).
