Matchup: Amityville (21-2) VS. Burke Catholic (18-4)
Game time: Saturday, 9 a.m.
Amityville has won 17 straight games and allowed only 50 or more points five times during that streak. The Warriors’ defense features tremendous ball pressure from its deep set of guards, led by Travis Dickerson, Andy Laurent and Mike Smith, plus interior defense and rebounding from Kavione Green, the team leader in points and rebounds. The Warriors, under coach Jack Agostino, won four straight state titles (2001-04).
Burke Catholic, from Goshen, has some flashy credentials of its own. The Eagles are making their fourth straight trip to the state Final Four, the last three in Class B. Stan Buczek, a 6-6 center, averages 17 points and 10 rebounds. Mike Coffey is a three-point threat.
If they advance: Championship game is 1:30 p.m. Sunday vs. Buffalo McKinley or Bishop Ludden.
