State officials will be in three Suffolk County communities this week to assist homeowners and business people harmed by superstorm Sandy in their applications for recovery aid.

The Cuomo administration recently won approval for its plan to use federal Community Block Grants to aid Sandy victims. Those seeking assistance must apply to the state.

Representatives of the Department of Financial Services will be in an RV Mobile Command Center Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Southampton Library, 91 Coopers Farm Rd.

State officials will be at Southold Town Hall, 53095 Main Rd. (Route 25), Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Thursday, they will be at Bellport Shopping Center, 10 Farber Dr., also from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Financial Services representatives also will be available to assist with insurance-related issues stemming from damage caused by Sandy. Additional locations will be announced in the future.

Housing and business recovery assistance can be applied for at nysandyhelp.ny.gov.
