Steve McCoy back home for 'Pajama Game'

WHAT Steve McCoy, the Patchogue-based actor just back from playing King Arthur in the national tour of "Monty Python's Spamalot," returns to Theatre Three for the leading-man role in the 1954 Broadway classic "Pajama Game." (McCoy's "Spamalot" tour made a one-night stop at Tilles Center.) Previously, he was featured on the Port Jefferson main stage as Petruccio in "Kiss Me Kate," Cervantes/Quixote in "Man of La Mancha," Goerges in "La Cage Aux Folles" and the split-personality title character in "Jekyll & Hyde." In "Pajama Game," McCoy plays opposite Jennifer Collester as his character's adversary and later, of course, love interest. Collester just completed her role as Mrs. Walker in "The Who's Tommy" and, before that, the title character in "The Drowsy Chaperone." Also featured in "Pajama Game" are Suzanne Mason, Phyllis March, Odell Cureton and a new face to Theatre Three audiences, Robert Schindlar.

MUSIC: Long Island Voices' 9/11 concert

WHAT Long Island Voices, under the direction of composer Michael Bussewitz-Quarm, presents a 9/11 memorial concert to benefit Long Island veterans. The featured choral work is "Dies Magna," written by Bussewitz-Quarm to commemorate the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001. Long Island Voices is a diverse group of singers affiliated with choruses and choirs from across the Island. They're joined by Long Island musicians who, like the singers, have volunteered their time. The concert will be recorded by R.S. Recording Services of Westhampton. Proceeds from the concert, sponsorships and CD will go to the nonprofit group 9-1-1 Veterans, which assists Long Island veterans financially while they go through the lengthy process of applying for benefits and disability services. ART: Max Gottfried at Freeport

WHAT Max Gottfried, a pop artist disguised as a mild-mannered Nassau Community College professor, exhibits his latest eye-popping creations at Freeport Memorial Library. The show features huge acrylic paintings, silk-screen prints and 3-D constructions. Gottfried says he draws inspiration from comic books, film noir imagery, '30s steam engine design, '60s garage music, vintage textiles and the eternal complexities of male-female relationships.

'The Living Forest'

WHAT Christopher Cumberbatch's "The Living Forest" installs a down-to-earth vision in the Mansions & Millionaires Designers' Showcase 2011, a benefit for the Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf. The Bay Shore artist's trees were created with recycled cardboard -- and his paintings are done on recycled or found wood.
