If anyone at Thursday's Long Island Association lunch received more applause than former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, it had to be Seung-Hee Lee, the woman who sang the national anthem in front of Palin and 1,200 other people.

Lee, 33, who is studying at Stony Brook University for her doctorate in music, wowed the audience with a heartfelt rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner." After Palin spoke, Lee sang "God Bless America."

Lee, who came to the United States from South Korea seven years ago to study music, seemed not in the least intimidated by the size of the crowd.

She said Law had heard her sing at a Stony Brook graduation and invited her to perform at the LIA's lunch.

"It was a wonderful experience," Lee said.
