Busing Vote. Smithtown school district residents will vote today from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on a referendum to restore the distances students must live from schools to qualify for busing. Check Carl MacGowan’s updates at newsday.com.
SHIRLEY
Library plans. The board of trustees of the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library will meet 7 p.m. Monday in the library, 407 William Floyd Pkwy., Shirley. Earlier this year, the board announced and then canceled an Oct. 1 closure of the library in order to make necessary repairs to the decrepit facility. It continues to seek a solution.
