 He walked into the storefront on Rockaway Turnpike in Lawrence, asked the cashier if she could make change for the bus and, police said, when the 19-year-old employee opened the register, the man jumped the counter and grabbed cash. Now, Nassau County police are searching for the robber, saying he "simulated having a gun." The robbery occurred just before 6 p.m. Thursday at the offices of L.
