An early morning fire Wednesday at a fencing manufacturer in Bay Shore sent one firefighter and one other person to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, fire officials said. -- JOHN VALENTI

Proposed Walgreens: Hempstead Town’s board of appeals meets today at 2 p.m. in the Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, adjacent to Hempstead Town Hall, for a public hearing about a controversial proposal to open a Walgreens on Meacham Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike.
