Police are still searching for the driver of a dark-colored sport utility vehicle that struck a 14-year-old girl walking along a road in Medford Monday night -- then fled the scene.

Wind advisory lifted, but gusts 40 to 45 mph

An early-morning wind advisory issued by the National Weather Service was lifted just after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. But, forecasters said, strong, gusting winds as high as 40-to-45 mph still have the potential to knock down tree limbs and topple power lines this morning. -- JOHN VALENTI
