Busing hearing. The board of education of the Smithtown school district meets Tuesday night at the Joseph Barton Building, 26 New York Ave. A public hearing begins at 7:30 p.m. on a busing referendum to be put before voters Monday to reverse a proposition passed in May that raised minimum distances students must live from schools to qualify for busing.
