AirTrain arrivals at Jamaica LIRR station learn of strike

Travelers exiting the AirTrain terminal Sunday afternoon at the Long Island Rail Road's Jamaica station included some who said they knew nothing about the LIRR strike.
LIRR officials in orange vests were answering there questions inside the terminal.
Robert Lowell, of Brooklyn, was stunned to see that service was down. He had landed at JFK Airport with his wife and daughter after a trip to San Francisco.
They had been planning to take the LIRR back home to Brooklyn.
"We had no idea," Lowell said. "Now we’ve got to take the subway to Manhattan, or something, or we’ll have to take an expensive taxi."
