Strip club owner Billy Dean, North Bellmore school district Superintendent Arnold Goldstein and candidates running for two seats on the North Bellmore board of education will be guest speakers at the North Bellmore Civic Association meeting Monday night.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the hamlet’s library, on 1551 Newbridge Rd. The meeting room has a capacity of 150 people.

Dean is expected to talk about his Showtime Cafe in North Bellmore, which bills itself “Long Island’s Number 1 Strip Club,” and will answer questions. Dean is seeking renewal of the club’s cabaret permit and off-street parking variance, both of which expired March 28. The Hempstead Town hearing is scheduled for May 23 at 2 p.m.

Dean and his company, Green 2009 Inc., sued the town appeals board in October for denying a cabaret license for a second property at 3500 Sunrise Hwy. in Wantagh, amid strident community opposition. Dean is seeking to overturn the board’s action, citing its initial approval of the cabaret application in June 2010, and subsequent denial in August.

Goldstein will discuss the school district’s proposed $48.1 million budget in advance of Tuesday’s budget vote. Candidates will also talk about their qualifications to be on the school board.
