Tim Tebow still is the Broncos' starter, at least for another week.

Coach John Fox said he's sticking with his embattled young quarterback despite Sunday's 45-10 loss to the Lions. Fox made it clear, however, that Tebow needs to improve quickly as a pocket passer to remain the starter.

"For this week, yes," Fox said Monday. "I think at the end of the day, we've got to see if he can improve and get better in the passing game."

Tebow said he doesn't feel as if he's on a week-to-week basis but that he's not one to fret about the future anyway.

Tebow has completed less than 50 percent of his passes and has been sacked 13 times in his two starts, including a win at Miami in which he played poorly for 55 minutes. On Sunday, Denver (2-5) will visit the archrival Raiders.

Against the Lions, Tebow had two turnovers that were turned into touchdowns and was sacked seven times.

KC tops Chargers in OT

Ryan Succop's 30-yard field goal with 5:16 left in overtime gave the Chiefs a 23-20 win over the Chargers Monday night in Kansas City.

The fourth straight victory by the Chiefs (4-3) created a three-way tie atop the AFC West with the Chargers and Raiders.

The Chargers were in position to kick a winning field goal in the final minute of regulation, but Philip Rivers fumbled a snap and the Chiefs recovered at their own 16.

Each team committed four turnovers.

Stony Brook's Fenaroli on Packers' practice squad

The Packers signed former Stony Brook University standout Paul Fenaroli and will add him to their practice squad. The 6-2, 300-pound offensive lineman was a two-time first-team All-Big South selection.

Fenaroli was an undrafted free agent with the Falcons during preseason but was released at the final cutdown. In three seasons at Stony Brook, he started each of the Seawolves' 38 games.
