An engineering study will be conducted to set the boundaries of Oyster Bay Town’s first town-run dog park, a Massapequa site.

The town has hired a Bethpage land surveying and engineering company to scope out the five-acre plot on Louden Avenue and determine what portion can be built into a dog park, Oyster Bay officials said.

In addition to the park, which officials said likely will measure about an acre and a half, a parking lot must be added.

Town board members on Tuesday voted, 6-0, with one councilman absent, to authorize Gayron de Bruin Land Surveying & Engineering Pc to handle a “survey stake out” for $4,000.

The dog park was set to open this spring. Dogs are not permitted at other town-owned parks.
