Several roads in East Hampton village, including the busy Railroad Avenue-Newtown Lane corridor, will be studied over the next few months, with an eye to developing a plan to repair or reconstruct them next year.

The village board authorized its consulting engineer on Friday to evaluate Railroad Avenue from Race Lane to Newtown Lane, and Newtown Lane from Railroad Avenue to Main Street.

The engineer, D. B. Bennett, will also evaluate Cove Hollow Farm road from Georgica Road to Ruxton Road and Ruxton Road from Cove Hollow Farm Road to its end.

Repair work would not begin until after Aug. 1, the start of the village’s new fiscal year.
