The Babylon Town Board is scheduled at Tuesday's meeting to request an environmental impact study of the proposed development of the Frontier Park mobile home park on Route 110 in Amityville.

Developer R Squared Llc has submitted plans to put apartments on the site where there are now 374 mobile homes, with construction to start in 18 months. Twenty percent of the units would be affordable housing, and residents would be given first priority and credited six months of their current rent.

Mobile home residents call the park one of the few affordable housing options left on Long Island. They buy the mobile homes and pay an an average of $635 a month rent for the land.

The board is also scheduled to award bids for animal food, playground equipment installation and town letterhead.

The meeting is 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 200 E. Sunrise Hwy., Lindenhurst.
