Hudson Valley High School all-stars Friday in Poughkeepsie, losing the finale 5-4.

Suffolk won the first game back on Jan. 6 at the Rinx, 7-5, scoring five straight goals after trailing 3-2 at the end of the first period.

Suffolk’s scoring was well spread out, as 10 different players tallied the 11 total goals in the two game series. Only Brett Kaiser of Kings Park-Commack scored in both games, but a handful of players recorded multiple assists.

Sachem coach Al Posillico Jr coached the all-star unit, and said the most satisfying aspect of the series was the way the Suffolk team quickly gelled and fused its talents to create chemistry on the ice.

“What’s incredible about these kids is when they play during the season, they go at it and can’t stand each other, but when they were together they really had each other’s back and I was shocked,” Posillico said. “The talent was there but they played very well together.”
