Connetquot-Sayville and Smithtown-Hauppauge are usually rivals on the ice, but Monday some of their best players joined forces to help lead the Suffolk all-stars over the Hudson Valley all-stars in a come-from-behind 3-1 victory in Newburgh.

With the game tied at one early in the third period, Connetquot-Sayville’s P.J. Dimartino scored off assists from Smithtown-Hauppauge’s Daniel Nelson and Sachem’s Alex Posillico to give the Suffolk squad the ultimate lead.

Later in the period, Dimartino connected with T-Bird teammate Brian Arroyo, who scored an insurance goal to make it 3-1.

Suffolk trailed 1-0 after the first period, but Smithtown-Hauppauge’s Michael Gioia tied the game midway through the second off an assist by St. John the Baptist’s Josh Wegar.

Suffolk improved to 3-1-1 all-time in all-star games against Hudson Valley.
