West Islip’s winning streak is at 32 after victories over Ward Melville (a 7-6 overtime thriller) last Wednesday and rallying from an 8-2 victory to defeat stubborn Northport, 11-9.

The Lions face another stern test in ultra-tough Division II on Friday night when they host Smithtown West.

Ward Melville recovered from that heartbreaking loss to post an impressive 14-11 victory over gritty Sachem North on Tuesday, scoring the most goals against the Flaming Arrows this season.

St. Anthony’s can’t wait for its rematch with Chaminade next Wednesday. The Friars want to reverse their 10-5 loss and set the stage for yet another game against the Flyers for the CHSAA title.

Comsewogue won its showdown with Shoreham-Wading River and stands with West Islip as the only undefeated teams left on Long Island.
