Suffolk’s best track athletes will have to wait one more day to book their tickets to the state meet.

The state qualifier, originally scheduled for Sunday, has been rescheduled for Monday at 5 p.m. at Suffolk Community College-Brentwood, according to Suffolk coordinator Tony Toro.

A number of county champions will be looking to qualify. Floyd’s Diamonte Corley will compete in the 55 and the 300 after winning both events at last weekend‘s large school championships. Northport’s Chris Odin, who won the large school championship in the 1000, will be trying to qualify in that event, according to the qualifier entry list found on Suffolk’s indoor track website. Northport won the large school championship, scoring 82 points.

Bay Shore and Miller Place will be well-represented on the girls side. Miller Place junior Talia Guevara and freshman Laura Nolan will try to qualify in the 3000. Tiana Guevara will compete in the 1500. Bay Shore’s Jacqueline Anderson will run the 600. Freshman Aviana Goode goes in the high jump and the 55 hurdles, according to the list.

The state meet will be held on Saturday, March 2 at Cornell University
