Holocaust survivor Warner Reich, a Smithtown resident, will speak today about his experiences as a member of a generation that overcame persecution and imprisonment under Nazi orders.

The talk will be part of a service to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day, or Yom Hashoah, this year at Temple Shalom of Woodbury.

Rabbi Alan Stein said “listeners can get a better idea for the way it might have been” when Jews were persecuted in Europe. “It’s an opportunity to hear a firsthand account.”

The service will start at 7:30 p.m. at the temple’s historical chapel, 8205 Jericho Tpke.
