Don't expect to see a remake of "Thelma & Louise" anytime soon -- at least not under Susan Sarandon's watch.

"A lot of films are very specific to the time that they are filmed and to that moment that they existed, and to try to recreate that in a new time is not maybe impossible, but it doesn't usually work," Sarandon told Hollywood Life.

Sarandon, 67, is not just protecting her own work -- she is against pretty much all remakes. There are exceptions, she said.

"When I did 'Alfie' . . . you couldn't do [it] the way it was done years before because it's almost such a misogynist character, women wouldn't have embraced it. And everybody said, 'Well it's not like the original, but . . .' So you can't win."

A cover fit for a prince

Prince George turns 1 on July 22 and Vanity Fair has kick-started the tiny royal's celebration with his first magazine cover. Also on the cover are his parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and inside is a story on how George spent his first year as a royal baby, including his eating habits and nighttime mood swings.
