Swantek, Deissler spur Commack
Paige Swantek singled to drive in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning after Nicole Deissler tied the game with an RBI double as Commack (6-3) came back from a 7-0 deficit to defeat Whitman, 9-8, in a League I/II crossover softball game Monday.
After a seven-run third inning by Whitman, Shannon McQueeney hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning and Swantek hit a three-run triple in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game.
Swantek went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and Deissler and Shannon Haller each went 2-for-3.
Eastport-South Manor 5, Westhampton 0: Catherine Havens threw a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts and went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Michelle Iannone went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Eastport-South Manor (4-5) in a League V/VI crossover game. Havens was perfect through six until an error in the seventh.
Northport 12, Brentwood 0: Junior Molly Jarrett threw a no-hitter with no walks and 11 strikeouts to lead Northport (5-4) in a League I/II crossover. She lost the perfect game on a fielding error in the fourth inning. Jarrett also went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs.
Patchogue-Medford 8, Lindenhurst 4: Meagan Anderson went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, Holly Eisenberg went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and McKenna Rowland tossed a complete game, allowing two earned runs with four strikeouts for Patchogue-Medford (6-3) in a League I/II crossover.
Kings Park 3, Rocky Point 0: Lindsay Taylor had 16 strikeouts, allowing three hits and no walks for Kings Park (8-1) in a League V/VI crossover. Paige Julich went 2-3 with two RBIs for Kings Park.
Smithtown West 7, Centereach 6: Kayla McCoy hit a go-ahead, two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the sixth to propel Smithtown West (6-2) in League III. Catherine Heacox went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.
Longwood 15, Sachem North 3: Leah Mele went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Stephanie Worth 3-for-4 with an RBI for Longwood (8-1) in a League I/II crossover.
Deer Park 13, Glenn 1: Aly Dzierzynski went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Lisa Bonacasa went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Sabrina Riley 3-for-3 with three runs and a stolen base and Ari Tedeschi had two hits and two RBIs for Deer Park (8-1) in a five-inning League V/League VI crossover.
Manhasset 4, Division 3: Katie Gieksie's two-out RBI double scored Alex Wysota to break a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning for Manhasset (3-3) in Conference ABC-IV League III. Wysota went 1-for-3 with a two-run double that tied the score at 3. Tara Prufeta allowed two earned runs with eight strikeouts in seven innings.
Carle Place 15, East Rockaway 0: Sam Burden went 2-for-3 with two triples and four RBIs, Ashley Cole went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Nicole Grande was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Carle Place (9-0) in Conference BC. Cole struck out eight and allowed two hits in a five-inning game.
Baldwin 14, Elmont 3: Kamari Somers went 4-for-5 with four runs scored, Liza Ueno had four RBIs and Jessica Peulis allowed two earned runs with eight strikeouts in a complete game for Baldwin (7-0) in Conference AA-III.
