Shahab Syed scored the go-ahead basket with five seconds left to lift St. Joseph's (L.I.) past SUNY-Purchase, 91-88, in a men's Skyline basketball game Saturday.

Syed's layup gave St. Joseph's an 89-88 lead. Vincent Russo had 29 points and Trey Black chipped in 10 points and 17 assists as St. Joseph's (21-3, 17-1) overcame a nine-point deficit with four minutes left.

St. Joseph's will host a Skyline semifinal against Purchase or SUNY-Old Westbury on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Farmingdale State 68, Mount St. Mary 67: A.J. Matthews scored with nine seconds left to put Farmingdale State (20-5, 16-2 Skyline) up 68-66. Dyshaun Flournoy had a team-high 17 points.

Adelphi 65, Le Moyne 61: Bradley Simpson had 19 points and Chris Ranglin and Robert Johnson each scored 14 points for Adelphi (19-6, 16-5) in Northeast-10 action.

NYIT 71, Dowling 67: Russell Holloway had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead NYIT (10-13, 7-7 ECC) in overtime. Antoine Brown had 19 points, including a three to give NYIT a 65-60 with 3:42 remaining in OT.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Suffolk CC 63, Westchester CC 61: Kara Nenos had 15 points and 18 rebounds and Nicole Alvarez had 14 points to lead Suffolk CC (14-7, 13-6 Region XV).

Adelphi 65, Le Moyne 64: Sade Jackson (12 points) hit a three-pointer with 1.1 seconds left to lift Adelphi (9-16, 7-14 Northeast-10). Freshman Kelly Mannix had a career-high 24 points.

Mount St. Mary 64, Farmingdale State 60: Baytania Newman had 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists for Farmingdale State (14-9, 12-2 Skyline).

LIU Post 90, Molloy 42: Samantha Kopp and Alexis Peters each had 14 points to lead LIU Post (19-8, 10-5 ECC).

Dowling 56, NYIT 47: Connie Simmons had 11 points and six rebounds to lead Dowling (18-6, 11-3 ECC).
