Syosset firm chosen for repairs to Long Beach City Hall

Long Beach will pay a Syosset firm $400,000 for restoration work on City Hall.

E&A Restoration will be charged with restoring “selected exterior areas” of City Hall, as well as performing “some demolition, parapet repairs and structural steel replacement,” according to documents filed at City Hall.

The City Council approved the contract Tuesday night with a unanimous vote.

City Hall, located on West Chester Street in the city’s central commercial district, was built in the late 1950s and has been in need of facade repairs for more than three years, city officials have said.

The city council in July approved a $4.35 million capital project plan that included about $500,000 to repair the facade.

The city received two bids for the work and went with “the lowest responsible bidder,” according to documents filed at City Hall.
