To help celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Syosset Public Library is asking patrons to sit down for video interviews to share their memories.

“Well we realized that we had this 50th celebration coming up, and we thought the community would enjoy participating in it this way,” said Karen Liebman, the library’s director. “People like to talk about their library.”

Liebman said several children and 25 adults have already sat down for interviews.

The library is inviting patrons to sit down for interviews from 1 to 5 p.m. April 12 or from 5 to 9 p.m. May 5. Martin said patrons can also call her at 516-921-7161, ext. 240, to schedule an appointment for another time.

The full collection of interviews will run in the library theater on June 9. They will also be available on the library’s website.
