T-birds’ drive for a cause

Connetquot, tied for first place in tough Division I, is hosting the second annual Angels on the Field memorial lacrosse event on Saturday. The boys play West Babylon at 11 a.m. and the girls play Smithtown East at 1 p.m. All proceeds for the games will go towards a scholarship fund established in 2009 in honor of three Thunderbird lacrosse players – Ryan Barresi, Jayson Giles and Stan Hartnett – who tragically lost their lives in 2008. The annual scholarship recipient must demonstrate character, dedication and commitment to the team.
