Tanya Jain - Half Hollow Hills High School West - September Scholar Artist

Tanya Jain is a Half Hollow Hills West student known to be willing to take creative risks in order to add new levels of sophistication to her work.

In 2011, Tanya has a photograph selected “Long Island’s Best” at The Hecksher Museum of Art, where she received the Renzo S. Bianchi Scholarship. Tanya is also an accomplished 3-dimensional artist, having spent most of last year creating a series of dynamic sculptures. She has completed all of the photography and ceramics courses that are offered, and is now taking Advanced Placement 2-D Design. Additionally, she is the photography editor of the yearbook.

Academically, Tanya is in the top 1% of her class. She was awarded 1st Place at Chemagination state competition, 3rd Place at Eastern Regionals, and honorable mention in the Toshiba Exploravision competition. She is also the recipient of the Dartmouth College Award.

Tanya plans to major in biology with hopes of pursuing diagnostic medicine, and intends to keep up with her photography as an academic minor.
