Harrison Barnes scored 18 points as No. 13 North Carolina earned the top seed in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament with an 81-67 victory over No. 4 Duke last night in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Kendall Marshall had 15 points and 11 assists as North Carolina (24-6, 14-2) avenged last month's loss at Duke in which the Tar Heels blew a 16-point lead in the first half.

Once again, the Tar Heels built a big lead in the first half, this time 14 points. But Barnes and the Tar Heels protected that margin and stayed in control the entire night.

It certainly eased more of the lingering pain from last year's 17-loss season, Williams' worst as a head coach. By beating the Blue Devils (27-4, 13-3), North Carolina became the first team in league history to win the ACC regular-season title outright a year after finishing below .500 in league play.

Kansas 70, Missouri 66: No. 2 Kansas wrapped up its seventh straight Big 12 title with defense and dominant play inside. Ballhandling, well, that needs some work.

Missouri (22-9, 8-8) shot a season-worst 29.3 percent and was 3-for-23 from three-point range. Laurence Bowers had 22 points, 10 rebounds and five steals off the bench for Missouri.

Iowa 67, Purdue 65: Jarryd Cole had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Matt Gatens hit two free throws with 6 seconds left as Iowa stunned No. 6 Purdue (25-6, 14-4 Big Ten).

Florida 86, Vanderbilt 76: Kenny Boynton scored 17 points in Nashville as the No. 14 Gators (24-6, 13-3) clinched the SEC regular season crown. John Jenkins led No. 21 Vandy (21-9, 9-7) with 22 points.

Arizona 90, Oregon 82: Kyle Fogg had 20 points and No. 18 Arizona (25-6, 14-4) finished its home schedule 17-0 and clinched the No. 1 seed for the Pac-10 Tournament.

Xavier 66, Saint Louis 55: Tu Holloway scored 25 points in St. Louis and No. 23 Xavier (24-6, 15-1) clinched the No. 1 seed for the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

Texas A&M 66, Texas Tech 54: David Loubeau scored 21 points and the host No. 24 Aggies (23-7, 10-6 Big 12) took control with a 9-0 run early in the second half.

Automatic NCAA bids

UNC Asheville 60, Coastal Carolina 47: Chris Stephenson scored 14 points, John Williams had 10 points and nine rebounds and North Carolina Asheville (19-13) took advantage of 21 turnovers by host Coastal Carolina in the Big South Conference title game. The Chanticleers (28-5) get an automatic bid to the NIT.
