The bill is in the mail . . . and now online as well, if you’re a Brookhaven resident.

The town website now features an online information system that allows taxpayers to see a digital version of their tax statements and receipts, allowing access to the information outside of Town Hall’s office hours.

“This is a credible step in providing information in a cost-effective manner without reducing services,” said Louis Marcoccia, the town’s receiver of taxes, in a news release. “Putting taxpayers within easy reach of information they need is a bold step in the right direction; this information belongs to the people.”

The service is being provided free through an agreement with provider Munitrax. Residents can pay the taxes online as well. Brookhaven taxpayers can see their bills at http://brookhavenny.munitrax.com.
