(AP) — Four decades after helping launch each other's storied careers, James Taylor and Carole King have announced dates for the U.S. leg of their much-anticipated "Troubadour Reunion" tour.

The tour marks the 40th anniversary of Taylor and King's breakthrough shows at the Troubadour club in Los Angeles, when they shared a band and a stage.

King played on Taylor's 1970 "Sweet Baby James" album and Taylor on King's 1971 "Tapestry" album.

Taylor says a reunion tour had been discussed for years, and finally took shape after at a benefit concert at the Troubadour a couple of years ago.

The U.S. tour will begin May 7 in Portland, Ore.
