Michael Dawidziak's column on the tea party hit the nail on the head ["Dismiss the undefinable tea party at your peril," Opinion, April 20]. The tea party movement defies, and will continue to defy, the defamatory tactics used by the opposition to marginalize it as an extremist, radical cult.

On the contrary, the tea party represents the resurgence of those Constitutional principles that first made America great, and that still live and breathe in the hearts and minds of normal, hardworking, everyday people all over the United States.

Those who think otherwise should burn their flags and trade in their tricorner hats for redcoats. Kudos to Dawidziak for correctly defining these patriots whom the misguided dare to dismiss.
