Color the Hauppauge Industrial Association's 22nd annual Business Trade Show & Conference green.

One of the dominant themes of Long Island's largest trade show - being held May 27 at Suffolk County Community College's Sports and Exhibition Center - is how to grow green companies and green jobs, said HIA president Terri Alessi-Miceli.

There will be 375 exhibitors and about 4,500 people attending, Alessi-Miceli said. And there will be more pavilions - big spaces where individual industries will be highlighted - than in the past.

The green pavilion, Alessi-Miceli said, is already sold out.

"Someone called about getting into the green pavilion, and we couldn't accommodate them," she said. Other pavilions will showcase economic development programs, health care and workforce development.

Gov. David A. Paterson will be a guest speaker, as will Barry Libert, chairman of Mzinga, a Waltham, Mass.-based provider of social software solutions.

There's no fee if you register before May 25 at hia-li.org/tradeshow2010.

There will be a $10 fee for walk-ins.
