Long Island’s next  "American Idol" could come out of Nassau’s Reach for the Stars teen talent search final at Eisenhower Park on Saturday, Nassau officials said.

County Executive Edward Mangano, who said he plans to attend the show that starts at 7 p.m., noted that two previous contest winners went on to appear on the television show: Robbie Rosen of Merrick in 2009 and Kevin Covais of Levittown in 2003.

“I know I speak for all Nassau County residents when I say how proud we are of all the finalists and wish each of them the best of luck in the contest,” Mangano said.

There will be 25 finalists from an original 64 contestants. The communities with the most representation are Wantagh, with four; Garden City, with three; and Valley Stream, Oceanside and Merrick, with two each.

The concert will take place at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre near parking fields 6 and 6A. Attendees should bring their own folding chairs. If weather conditions are threatening, call 516-572-0355 after 6:30 p.m. for updated performance information.
