Long Island Rail Road customers heading east this weekend from the Woodside, Forest Hills and Kew Gardens stations can expect to board trains by way of temporary platforms, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said Thursday.

The same goes for eastbound customers who depart trains at those three stops, an MTA official said in a news release.

That's because bridge work will prevent eastbound trains from using the platform in the usual way, the release said. Customers are asked to look for signage directing them to the proper waiting areas, as well as listen for instructions from crew members.

The temporary arrangements will be in effect from Friday at 9:30 p.m. through Monday at 4:59 a.m., the MTA said.
