'Idol' will reveal some semifinalists tonight
Instead of announcing the complete group of semifinalists on Wednesday's show, "American Idol" will reveal some of the chosen few in a two-hour episode Tuesday, tvguide.com reports. After the remaining contestants perform their final solo numbers, judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres will deliberate before announcing some of the top 24 semifinalists. The rest of the group will be named on Wednesday's show.
James to host awards show on Nickelodeon
Setauket's Kevin James has signed on to host Nickelodeon's "23rd Annual Kids' Choice Awards" in Los Angeles on March 27, People magazine reports. "In short, I guess you could say hosting the 'Kids' Choice Awards' completes me," the star of "Paul Blart, Mall Cop" joked. This year's show comes with presidential aspirations. Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama have been nominated for their first Kids' Choice Award in the newly formed category Cutest Couple. They're up against Edward & Bella and Jacob & Bella from "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" and Neytiri and Jake from "Avatar."
Video contest for classic Simon song
Carly Simon is giving fans and filmmakers an opportunity to have some fun with one of the biggest mysteries in pop music: Who is the narcissistic target of her 1972 chart-topping tune "You're So Vain"? The pop singer/songwriter has launched a competition seeking the first official video to accompany the song - either the original or the acoustic version released last year, Reuters reports.
