ABC's 'Betty' star to wed

"Ugly Betty" star America Ferrera is engaged to marry longtime boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams, her rep confirmed to People magazine. Ferrera, 26, first met Williams at the University of Southern California when he cast her in his student film. On Wednesday, the actress sported her new diamond on the red carpet at the Edinburgh Film Festival screening of "The Illusionist" in Scotland.

Cibrian canned from CBS' 'CSI: Miami'

Eddie Cibrian has been axed from "CSI: Miami," a year after he joined the cast of the hit CBS show, according to reports. Cibrian's contract has reportedly not been picked up and sources say original cast member Adam Rodriguez is returning full-time this fall, EW.com reports. CBS declined to comment.

Not guilty plea in London kidnapping case

A man has pleaded not guilty to kidnapping actor Jeremy London and forcing him to use drugs, the Riverside County district attorney's office said Thursday, The Associated Press reports. Brandon Adams, 26, of Palm Springs, remained jailed after being arraigned Tuesday on five charges that include kidnapping and theft, said Michael Jeandron, a district attorney's spokesman. A statement from Palm Springs police said London, who appeared on TV's "7th Heaven" and "Party of Five," was kidnapped while changing a flat tire on June 10.

Holbrook native lands MTV's Twitter expert

Meet Dan Chizzoniti, 22, of Holbrook, and a recent college graduate. MTV has selected him as one of 18 candidates to become the first-ever "MTV TJ," Newsday's Verne Gay reports. TJ? Good question: Twitter jockey, or resident MTV expert in social media who will float across various platforms of the MTV empire to bring pop culture news and views to the audience via Twitter and Facebook.
