Sutherland OKd to return to '24'
The clock will start ticking again for "24" when Kiefer Sutherland returns to the set Monday after surgery that shut down filming of the Fox network thriller for two weeks, The Associated Press reports. A statement released yesterday from Twentieth Century Fox Television says Sutherland has been cleared to return to work. The studio says no disruption is expected in the airing schedule. Neither the studio nor Sutherland's representative has commented on the nature of Sutherland's ailment. The Los Angeles Times first reported the production halt and says Sutherland suffered from a ruptured cyst near his kidney.
Tenor Domingo to have surgery
Placido Domingo is expected to undergo surgery later this week after the internationally acclaimed tenor suffered abdominal pain during a recent performance in Tokyo, AP reports. Publicist Nancy Seltzer would only describe the procedure as "medically recommended preventive surgery." Seltzer says Domingo expects to resume his performance schedule after a recuperation period of about six weeks.
Gary Busey, 65, welcomes baby boy
Gary Busey is a dad again, ET Online reports. The Academy Award nominee, 65, and his partner Steffanie Sampson, 40, welcomed their first son together Tuesday. The baby boy, whom they named Luke Samson Busey, weighed in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces. "This feels like a dream," the couple said in a statement. Busey's son Jake, 38, was one of the first to arrive at the Los Angeles hospital to congratulate the couple.
