Rowling to shed light on 'Pottermore'
Author J.K. Rowling has called a news conference Thursday in London to reveal details of "Pottermore," a mysterious website that has been taunting "Harry Potter" fans with the words "coming soon," The Associated Press reports. Theories include a Harry Potter encyclopedia, e-book versions of the novels or an Internet-based game. Several British newspapers received what appeared to be a leaked marketing memo indicating the site is a Web-based game. It's not clear whether the memo was genuine.
'Jackass' star Dunn had been drinking before crash
Ryan Dunn, of MTV's "Jackass," had a blood-alcohol content that was more than twice the legal limit for drivers when he and a passenger died in a fiery one-car crash this week, according to a toxicology report. The report said Dunn's blood-alcohol level was 0.196 at the time of the crash, The Associated Press reports. The legal limit for drivers in the state is .08. The report was released Wednesday by Pennsylvania's West Goshen Township Police. Police say Dunn may have been going as fast as 140 mph when his Porsche crashed. Dunn, 34, and his passenger Zachary Hartwell, died Monday after leaving a bar.
Glen Campbell has Alzheimer's disease
Grammy-winning singer and actor Glen Campbell, 75, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease six months ago, his wife Kim says in the new issue of People magazine. She went public because "if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn't want people to think, 'What's the matter with him? Is he drunk?' " The "Rhinestone Cowboy" hit-maker plans to undertake what he calls the Glen Campbell Goodbye Tour, according to the Los Angeles Times, to support the Aug. 30 release of what he sees as his final album, "Ghost on the Canvas."
