The players are all patched up

Keen observers might have seen a new patch on the Giants' practice jerseys in training camp. It's something John Harbaugh brought over from his time with the Ravens.
"The patches are something we've been doing since ‘08," said Harbaugh, referring back to his first season as head coach. "They are kind of an honoring of the military award medal type things. We started those."
Several players have a white patch that features a muscular arm holding a blue Giants football on a stick. That's for completing a certain amount of the offseason program. Some have a white patch with a sword, which is for a Giants playoff appearance. Others, like Brian Burns, have a patch with stars showing their Pro Bowl selections.
It's just another thing that's part of Harbaugh's imprint on the team. He added that more patches could come in-season for various things as games are played.
