Long Island Association chief Kevin Law says Nassau and Suffolk should consider merging into a single county to increase efficiency and stabilize taxes.

While the proposal needs to be fleshed out, Law says the "status quo is not sustainable," while acknowledging that push-back from politicians who want to keep their seats would no doubt be considerable.
