One of my biggest pet peeves about the hype for last year’s WrestleMania is how WWE insisted on billing the event as the “25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.”

It was not.

Anyone with a third grade knowledge of mathematics understands that you don’t turn 1 on the day that you are born. And so the first anniversary of WrestleMania was on March, 1986 – a year after the first show. And this year’s event marks the actual 25th anniversary of WrestleMania.

WWE could have gotten more bang for its buck by simply calling last year’s show “WrestleMania 25” – which, in and of itself, is a major milestone, and saving the"silver anniversary" distinction for this year’s event.
