Jenkins scores 47 for Columbia

Sophomore Buck Jenkins scored a school-record 47 points as visiting Columbia beat Harvard, 92-77. Jenkins, who still holds the Columbia record, surpassed Chet Forte's 45 points against Pennsylvania in 1957. Jenkins didn't attempt a three-point field goal in the game, making him and Shaquille O'Neal the only college players that season to score more than 40 points without a three. He fell four points shy of Bill Bradley's Ivy League record of 51, set with Princeton in 1964.
