U.S. wins Olympic gold

Team USA rallied from a 2-1 third-period deficit and defeated Finland, 4-2, to win the gold medal at the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. Phil Verchota's goal tied the score at 2 and Rob McClanahan's goal gave Team USA the lead. Mark Johnson's score, a backhander, was the clincher. The United States team left the Olympic Fieldhouse with their first hockey gold medal in 20 years.
