Brooklyn plays longest game ever

In the longest major-league game by innings, the Brooklyn Robins and Boston Braves tied 1-1 after 26 innings at Braves Field before it was called because of darkness. Both pitchers went the distance, the Robins' Leon Cadore allowed 15 hits, walked five and struck out seven and Joe Oeschger gave up nine hits, walked four and struck out seven. Brooklyn scored in the top of the fifth when Ivy Olson singled home Ernie Krueger. Boston tied it in the sixth on Tony Boeckel's RBI single. Boston's Charlie Pick set a record for hitless at-bats in a game, going 0-for-11.
